About Me
Dr.
Jon Klimo is widely considered to be the world's leading authority on channeling and author of the definitive work on the topic,
Channeling: Investigations on Receiving Information from Paranormal Sources, which has been translated into
8 different languages.
Dr. Klimo has undergraduate and graduate degrees from Brown University and a doctorate in psychology.
He has been continuously teaching in doctoral programs for the past 34 years, and is currently starting his
ninth year as a core faculty member, now as Full Professor, in the clinical program at the San Francisco Bay Area campus of
The American Schools of Professional Psychology, Argosy University.
Dr. Klimo has chaired some
200 dissertation committees and done research, teaching, public presentations,
and publishing in the areas of parapsychology, alternative medicine, consciousness studies,
new paradigm thought and new science, Ufology/Extraterrestriology, metaphysics and the transpersonal domain.
He has also done over a 100 conference presentations and has appeared on more
than 100 different radio and 20 different television programs.
Having begun his career as a poet and painter, he was a professor at Rutgers University’s Graduate School of Education
from 1974-82. During this time, he was Founding Director for its large Creative Arts Program. As a lifelong multi-disciplinarian, he has
also done extensive research, writing, teaching, and presentations in the areas of
the arts, creativity, intuition, inspiration, and imagination, as well in the
areas already mentioned.
A little over a year ago (late 2006) he co-authored, with Pamela Heath,
Suicide: What Really Happens in the Afterlife?—Channeled Messages from the Dead. He is currently working on
four new books:
Close Encounters of the Inner Kind: Channeling Extraterrestrials; Scientific Information from Paranormal Sources;
The Nature of How We Create Our Own Reality (no title yet), and
Helping Those with Paranormal and Otherworldly Experiences (not title
yet).
He is also in the process of putting together two nearly completed book-length
manuscripts for submission to publishers, one comprised of his inter-related
papers, presentations, and essays, many of which are included on this website
under "Publications" and "Drafts", and the other a collection of approximately
50 of his earlier-written "Lyrical Essays," six of which are recorded as
hyper-linked WMA audio files under "Audio Files" on this website.
Dr. Klimo lives in the San Francisco Bay Area with his wife of
29 years.

Personal Interests
-
My life-long desire is to understand the ultimate
secrets of the universe, including how God works and how Jon Klimo is God in
localized, individualized, vastly-stepped-down form (as is each of us);
which leads to my now-decades-old understanding that we are all something
like "cosmological sub-personalities" of the one Creator Universal Being, as
relativistic experience-gathering frames of reference operating
through kinds and degrees of what I call "cosmological dissociation."
Individually and conjointly, the process of overcoming this dissociation is
the great religio-spiritual and scientific quest that constitutes my primary
personal interest.
-
Extensive ongoing reading across a variety of
disciplines
-
Working to integrate my earlier (circa
1957-1982) poet/artist interests, abilities, productivity, and
"calling" with my more recent calling (1982-present) to research and
writing in more interdisciplinary scientific and philosophical fields.
-
Maintaining the earlier poet thread through
occasional excursions into what I call my "lyrical essay" or "prose poem"
writing, which now includes much more multi-disciplinary content than my
earlier literary-world versions (and I plan to put many of these kinds of
pieces on this website soon).
-
Trying to introduce new ways of teaching and
conceptualizing the educational/learning/developmental process, K through Graduate School

Future Plans This year will see the re-release
of
Channeling: Investigations on Receiving Information from Paranormal Sources.
However, I am working on four entirely new books that should be available in the
next few years:
-
Close Encounters of the Inner Kind:
Channeling Extraterrestrials - this book will focus on the channeled
messages of extraterrestrials. Tentative publication date 2007, by North
Atlantic Books.
-
Scientific Information from Paranormal Sources
-
Helping Those with Paranormal and Otherworldly Experiences
- this will be a book to aid those with spiritual emergences and related
paranormal and other-worldly experiences and abilities.
-
How we Create Our own Reality-- This is
a book project I have been working on since the mid-1980's. Aspects of it,
and perhaps eventual parts of it, may be found in my various published and
unpublished writing available on this website in full-text PDF file form.
